The Estate
Château Bastor Lamontagne is a vineyard of 56 hectares located in Preignac, one of the villages covered by Sauternes appellation. Until 1711 the estate belonged to the King of France, the Successor in Guyenne to the King of England who lated ceded it to Vincent de la Montaigne, a counsellor at the Bordeaux parliament.
The real wine-growing era began in the 19th century when the Larrieu family, and in particular Amédée Larrieu, who was already the owner of Chateau Haut Brion in Pessac, took over the estate.
