The Estate

Château du Tertre, Great Classified Growth in 1855, is situated on the highest point of Margaux appellation. The vineyard stretches over 52 hectares of land and is composed of the classic Medoc grapes – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. In 1997 the château was bought by a Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersama – a great fan of Margaux wines. Since the arrival of the Albada family, Château du Tertre has been renovated and equipped with the new wine-making facilities to assure the the highest quality of the great wine.

Tasting Notes

A very deep and dense almost black colour.
A complex and concentrated nose reveals a rich bouquet of ripe dark fruits, black currant, blackberry and blueberry, harmoniously completed by soft spices, toasted aromas with a minty touch. The palate is full, rich and precise, with almost melted fine tannins, a juicy fruitforward core and a beautiful freshness at the finish. A beautiful example of a classic Margaux.
