The Estate

Château Lafon-Rochet, Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc, is located in Saint-Estèphe appellation . The Chateau stretches over 45 hectares of vines planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Chateau is owned by the Tesseron family who previously had a career in the Cognac trade and also own Château Pontet-Canet.
Purchased by Guy Tesseron in the 1960s, it was the first Médoc chateau to be rebuilt in the 20th century

Blend

54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot

Tasting Notes

A garnet-purple colour. A remarkable richness on the nose – intense aromas of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry, with hints of graphite, tobacco and cloves. A fine medium-bodied palate, with a strong core of fruit, elegant ripe tannins, a very blackberry perfumed finish. Outstanding wine that will age beautifully.
