The Estate

The history of this castle dates back to the Middle Ages (16th century) when the lands of Poujeaux depended
on the current Latour castle, formerly Latour Saint-Mambert.
An emblematic property of the appellation, Poujeaux, which has belonged to the Cuvelier family (Clos
Fourtet) since 2008, produces reliable wines, with elegance and finesse, which suits it perfectly. Under the
leadership of its director, Christophe Labenne, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt, Poujeaux exploits its
attractive terroir with precision and is a reference in the appellation.
While continuing to develop their Médoc property, the owners preserve family, human and quality values
while respecting a terroir that expresses its complexity

Blend

54 % Cabernet Sauvignon
40 % Merlot
6% Petit Verdot

Tasting Notes

A deep garnet color with brilliant bright purple glints.
An intensely aromatic nose with notes of violets, blackcurrant, flint and cigarbox.
The entry is harmonious and velvety smooth. Silky tannings with a great
minerality and beautiful finesse and elegance. Outstanding length of flavour.
This wine expresses the brightness of the sunshine rather than its heat.
