The Estate

The second wine of the Premier Grand Cru Classé, Clarence de Haut-Brion brings back the unique signature of its famous elder.

Château Haut-Brion is managed today by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, grandson of Clarence Dillon who acquired this property in 1935. First Classified Growth in 1855, the property is located at the gates of Bordeaux in the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation . The estate covers 48 hectares of red grape varieties, planted on an exceptional terroir made up of a layer of gravel that rests on a limestone base.

Blend

57% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes

Wine Advocate-Parker : 93+ / 100
This is a seriously impressive vintage for this second label of Chateau Haut-Brion. Blended of 57% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color and expressive notes of crushed black cherries, blackberries, warm plums, dusty soil and spice cake with touches of dried roses and cigar boxes. Medium to full-bodied with wonderful concentration and depth, it features firm, beautifully rounded tannins and lively acid, finishing long and earthy.
